DermLens is a computer vision research project of Shen Dermatology focused on developing deep learning methods to monitor treatment response during non-surgical topical therapy for skin cancer.

The goal of DermLens is to design computer vision models that quantify longitudinal changes in erythema and related visual biomarkers during combination topical immunotherapy for basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Our work centers on within-patient changes over time, capturing the progression of inflammation, tissue breakdown, and remodeling.

We welcome collaboration with medical image computing researchers interested in longitudinal analysis, color- and texture-based skin biomarkers, dermatologic treatment monitoring, and non-surgical interventions for skin cancer.
